Gluten Free Scones !
Gluten free baking is an area I have had to work hard on to master. Initially I struggled finding a flour that would work how I expected it to. After lots of trying ans testing I can confirm that Doves Farm is the only flour I use when baking gluten free.
This week we created a full gluten free afternoon tea, and amongst other things the scones had to be perfect. Now, I will be honest I have had many failed attempts in the past that have come out solid as a rock or grainy…but not these bad boys! In fact we stood munching them after a hard service when our team said how good the scones were. I mentioned they were gluten free and they had no idea.
The recipe credits go firmly to the BBC Good Food. A couple of points for you - ensure you use GF baking powder. Check your baking powder. Not all is gluten free. Also rest the dough in the fridge. I have skipped this in the past, rushing to see the end result - don’t.
